Testing & tagging of electrical equipment is necessary for the safety of all persons using the equipment, and for employers to comply with their duty of care obligations under the various Occupational Health & Safety Laws, Regulations and Codes of Practice.

For the safety of persons using electrical equipment, routine inspection and testing is needed to detect obvious damage, wear and tear or other conditions which might render it unsafe for use.

Tag Safe Australia Pty Ltd carries out all in-service inspections and tests of electrical items strictly in compliance with AS/NZS 3760:2010. All Tag Safe testing personnel fulfill the standard’s criteria for the definition of a “Competent Person”; our technicians are qualified electricians.

A Failed Appliance

All electrical equipment that passes testing has a compliance tag attached. Failed equipment will have a “Do not use” tag attached and failures are brought to the attention of site staff immediately. The results of each test are recorded and provided to the customer and in addition, maintained on our secure data base.

Frequently encountered faults include

• Frayed leads and exposed electrical conductors
• Resistance faults (shorts)
• “Daisy chained” power boards or double adaptors burning out
